It is an increasingly popular event that has attracted close to 2,000 people and raised £65,000 over the past two years.
Now fundraisers are gearing up for the third Hurst Castle Midnight Ramble sponsored by Hoburne Holiday Parks.
The magical lantern-lit stroll in aid of Oakhaven Hospice in Lymington takes place on Saturday May 14.
Registration starts from 10.30pm, with the sponsored walk from The Marine Café in Milford on Sea along the spit to Hurst Castle and back again, getting underway at 11.15pm. The entry fee of £14 for adults and £9 for children under 16 includes a T-shirt and well-deserved bacon roll and hot drink at the finish.
Chairman of Hoburne Holiday Parks, Rosie Kennar, said:
“We are really pleased to be sponsoring this event again. It is such good fun and raises a lot of money for a wonderful cause that holds a special place in many people’s hearts locally.”
Head of fundraising and communications for Oakhaven Hospice, Mike Denny, added: “This event has really captured the imaginations of local people and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported it so well in the past. We would love to beat the previous years’ successes though both in terms of the number of people taking part and the amount of money we raise. The gauntlet is thrown down and we need as many people as possible to take up the challenge.”
