Months of fundraising and training have been put to the test, as two employees from the popular Holiday Park, Hoburne Naish, on the border of Hampshire and Dorset, were transported to the Moroccan Desert for the Wave 105 Sahara Challenge.
Between March 24th and 29th Jim Flannigan and Adam Palmer took part in the gruelling five-day trek across the Sahara in aid of Wave 105’s Cash for Kids charity. The pair raised a staggering £3,200 by arranging a Race Night at the Hoburne Naish Holiday Park and sponsorship. All the money raised from the challenge will go towards supporting disadvantaged children across the south that are under the age of 18 and financially, socially, emotionally or physically disadvantaged.
Jim said: “As this was the first time I have ever done anything like this before, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it was fantastic. It was the opportunity of a life-time to take part in the Wave 105 Sahara Challenge. We are really grateful to everyone who got involved in the Race Night at Hoburne Naish to everyone that sponsored us, helping make a difference to disadvantaged children in the area.”
