Hoburne Park

Hoburne Park is located in the beautiful area of Christchurch which is just 2 miles away, with Bournemouth and the New Forest National Park close by. Hoburne Park is a compact park with a 15 minute walk to the nearest beach.


Pre-Arrival

  • The park roads are flat, although there is a slight incline to the top of the park. There are 'traffic calming' speed bumps with a speed limit of 10mph around the park.

Car Parking

  • Hoburne Park offers a large level car park with plenty of parking space on arrival at the reception building.
  • Down curbs to reception with assistance, accessible for a wheelchair user.
  • Parking bays near the caravans.


Reception

  • On arrival please go to the reception desk to check in, the reception team will issue keys, and passes.
  • A hearing loop system is installed to the left of the reception desk should this be required.
  • The reception team are always happy to help with any additional information requests.


Accommodation

  • Hoburne Park is made up of privately owned holiday homes and holiday caravans only.
  • We have two or three bedroom caravans with a choice of Bronze, Silver and Gold holiday units.
  • All categories offer a fully equipped kitchen, open plan lounge, a fully fitted shower room and all bed linen is supplied along with a welcome pack.
  • We offer a wheelchair friendly caravan, should this be required, please request this at the time of booking. This caravan has a ramp for easy access, wide living space and doors and a specially adapted wet room. There is an allocated parking bay for one car adjacent to this caravan.


Leisure and Entertainment Complex

  • All the public areas within the complex, including the Roots bar and restaurant, reception, swimming pools, soft play area for under fives, arcade and fitness room are on one level.
  • Entry to the 1912 Club for the entertainment is gained either by a ramp which is wheelchair friendly or by steps.
  • There are three disabled unisex toilets on the complex, in the main reception area, restaurant and swimming pool with emergency alarm pulls.
  • The decor and colour has been chosen to show a marked difference between walls and carpeting throughout the complex with all our entrances displaying signs above the doors.

 

Additional Park Information

  • Wifi is available in the complex area, wifi vouchers are available at reception.
  • Tennis and crazy golf, please book and pay at reception.
  • The play park is adjacent to the crazy golf and tennis areas with benches available. The play park area consists of bark for safety of the children.
  • Hearing Loops are available in reception, bar areas and entertainment room with signs indicating where they are.
  • Tokens for the launderette are available from reception, together with the prices and other chargeable leisure facilities displayed.
  • Bus stops for Christchurch, Bournemouth and Lymington are just outside the main gate with services running every half an hour. Bus service X1 and X2.
  • Reception holds a list of doctors, hospitals and chemist telephone numbers, these are also in the Information pack which is provided on arrival.
  • The Security number for night time is displayed on the reception window.
  • The Park has a woodland walk and questionnaire - good fun!

Local Area:

Christchurch
An ancient town which offers shopping, restaurants, café's, tea rooms and cinema. Christchurch also has the majestic Priory Church, which has a wealth of history dating back to Norman times.

Christchurch Quay

Waterside walks, a mill of Saxon origin, restaurants and boat rides along the river.

Mudeford Quay

Fishings trips, crabbing, ferry to Hengistbury Head, cafe, Inn and fresh fish stall.

Stanpit Marsh Nature Reserve

150 acres of wetland and walks with Visitor Interpretations Centre. Conservation area for birds, animals (horses) and marshland plants.

Avon Beach

Sandy beach, cafe with outside eating, souvenir shop, ice cream kiosk and hire facilities for beach huts, deckchairs and canoe's.

Steamer Point Woodland Reserve

32 acres of cliff top woodland walks, wildlife conservation with access to Highcliffe Castle.

Highcliffe Castle

Built in 1830 by Lord Stuart de Rothesay. State rooms incorporate the Heritage Centre. Gardens with tea rooms and walks and sea views to the Isle of Wight.

Hoburne Bashley

  • We cater for touring caravans and have caravan holiday homes for sale or hire. The site is located on predominantly flat ground.
  • One caravan is adapted to be suitable for guests with access requirements and is adjacent to all the main facilities.
  • We have wheelchair accessible toilets and washing facilities, which include a level entry shower and handrails.

Car Parking and Arrival

  • Immediately adjacent to the Park Reception there is car parking for up to 10 cars.
  • 25m from the Park reception is the main car park with spaces for up to 100 cars. With a blue badge parking space closest to the reception.
  • The car park is lit with lamp posts at night and the entrance to reception is well lit.
  • Once registered at reception guests can access the park.


Reception

  • There are drop curbs leading up to the main reception doors.
  • The doors are 1200mm/47ins wide and automatic.
  • There is a choice of seating in the reception area.
  • The floor surface throughout the reception is short-pile carpet and laminate.
  • The area is evenly and well lit with overhead lighting.
  • There is a lowered section of the check-in desk.
  • A hearing loop system is installed at reception and staff have been trained in its use.
  • A magnifying glass, pen and pad of paper are available on request.
  • We can show you to your pitch/caravan on request.


Touring Facilities

  • We have 204 hard standing pitches for touring caravans. Please specify when booking if you would like one of our Superior, or premier pitches. If you would like to be close to the amenities then please specify at the time of booking.
  • Assistance with pitching is offered, subject to staff availability.
  • Parking on the grass beside your caravan is not permitted.
  • There are numerous water points, chemical toilet disposal points, dustbin areas, recycling points and fire points on the park which are no further than 50 metres away from any pitch.
  • There are a number of washing up sinks outside each toilet block.
  • Pitches are allocated on booking and staff are happy to advise which pitches are suitable for your requirements.


Caravan Holiday Homes & Chalets

  • We have 31 caravan holiday homes for hire (self-catering); one is adapted to be suitable for guests with specific access requirements and is in close proximity of main facilities. Please see separate Access Statement for our accessible caravan.


Toilet & Washing Facilities

  • There are two toilet blocks with ramp access. A small toilet block is located in Beech touring field. A larger toilet block is located in Aspen.
  • The key for the accessible toilet and shower can be obtained from reception. A £5 deposit is required.
  • Both blocks of toilets have a unisex accessible toilet with a level entry shower, described below:
  • Entrance door 8955mm/35.25" wide and level entry into the toilet. Access width 880mm/34.25" transfer space to the left of the toilet in the small block and to the right of the toilet in the large block, when facing the toilet.
  • The toilet height is 400mm/15.7ins.
  • Vertical rail (one) side of the basin and 2 rails either side of the toilet in the shower area there are 2 rails on one side.
  • A horizontal rail on the sidewall adjacent to the toilet.
  • The flooring is non-slip laminate.
  • The blocks are well lit with fluorescent tube overhead lighting with automatic sensors.
  • There is a large wash basin; height is 770mm/30" with push button taps.
  • There is colour contrast with critical surfaces.
  • Public Toilets all with level entry, step free access, are also located in the Restaurant/Bar and Entertainment/Forest Room.


Food & Drink Outlets

  • Access to the food and drink outlets is through the main reception.
  • The restaurant and bar are all situated on one level and have level access throughout.
  • Tables in the restaurant are well spaced apart, with a clear height from the floor of 609mm/24ins, with upright chairs without arms.
  • The bar area has a mixture of sofas, soft chairs and upright chairs with high and low tables. Service is usually at the bar, but bar snacks can be served at the table on request.
  • Lighting in all areas is controlled by dimmer switches, with fluorescent overhead lighting used.
  • The flooring in the restaurant is short pile carpet and wood at the bar.
  • Where possible all our food produce is locally sourced. We do our best to cater for any dietary requirements; please contact us in advance with any specific requests or questions you may have.
  • All staff can assist by running through menus with you.
  • The restaurant offers a take-away service with seating available.
  • Crockery is colour contrasted with the table where possible.
  • Nearest accessible toilet is in the reception area.


Launderette

  • There is ramp access to the launderette then a 75mm/3" step it is then level throughout.
  • The door opening is 810mm/32" wide, easy to open.
  • There are six front loading washing machines, powder top loading (height 115cm).
  • Iron and on/off switch is accessible from seated or standing position and ironing board is adjustable.
  • Hand wash sink is 850mm/33.5ins high,35" high from floor to surface 36" from floor to sink
  • The flooring is non-slip laminate.
  • The area is well lit with fluorescent tube overhead lighting.
  • Shop(s)
  • There is a shop on park where you can purchase a range of household goods and newspapers.
  • The shop is level throughout.
  • Bread, milk and newspapers can all be reached from a seated position.
  • The counter has a hearing loop system installed and staff have been trained in its use.
  • Staff can offer assistance if required.


Leisure Facilities

  • Leisure facilities comprising of bowling, amusement arcade, and swimming pool are on the ground floor of the main building. These can be reached via step free access from the reception area. A ramp allows access to the swimming pool changing facilities.
  • All doors, including the main entrance door, which is automatic, are 900mm/35.5ins wide, light and easy to open.
  • The swimming pool changing rooms have an accessible toilet and changing facility. With a 900mm/35.5in wide door.
  • The pool is beached allowing entrance at the shallow end. There are rails to one side to assist entry. We currently do not have a hoist for use in the pool.
  • Flooring in the pool is tile, the rest of the area is non-slip.
  • All areas are well lit with lighting throughout.


Entertainment Complex

  • We have a family disco every Friday in the forest room adjoining the bar.
  • Access is step free from the bar.
  • There is flashing disco lighting used.
  • The flooring is short pile carpet and the dance floor is wood.
  • A hearing loop system is available for use here.
  • Chairs and seating can be arranged to suit.
  • There are toilets within this room including a disabled toilet


Grounds and Garden

  • The park is large and spacious; with a 9 hole golf course set within the grounds the park is mainly flat apart from one area which is on a hill.
  • Hedgerows and trees divide the park into small discrete areas.
  • The paths around the park are relatively flat with dropped kerbs in some areas. 
  • There is a children's play area and crazy golf which has a gate to entry 850mm/33.5ins wide.
  • The surface of the play area is grass with bark under play equipment.
  • There are seven benches in the play area.
  • Additional Information
  • A water bowl is available just outside the reception and leisure facilities for assistance dogs.
  • All facilities are clearly signposted with signs at each junction point. Clear signage is used throughout the park using large letters and pictograms.
  • Wi-fi Internet access is available in the clubhouse.
  • The nearest General Hospitals with an A&E unit and walk in NHS are Lymington and Bournemouth. The nearest Doctor's surgery is 1 mile away. Please contact reception for further information.

Hoburne Naish

Hoburne Naish is set on the cliff top between Highcliffe on Sea and Barton on Sea overlooking the Solent with wonderful views of the Needles and the Isle of Wight.


Pre Arrival

  • The Park is 100 acres in size the properties well spaced and with ample open areas, car parking and cliff top views.
  • The Park does have a pathway to the sandy beach which is stepped and made from gravel. This walkway is not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs or anyone who has difficulty walking. The pathway is 500 metres from the Club Complex. However the beach can be accessed from a short drive in to Highcliffe on Sea via a sloped road way for walkers, pushchairs and wheelchairs.

Transport (On Site)
The roads and paths on the Park are mainly tarmac with a few paved pathways to some chalets. The paths are lowered in places for wheelchair users.


Accommodation

  • The accommodation on the Park is made up of privately owned static holiday caravans, holiday chalets and lodges, company owned holiday lodges and chalets for letting. Four of the company owned Solent lodges are suitable for semi disabled persons and do have ramped access and wheel in showers with grab rails.
  • The majority of the static caravans are on flat level ground with the exception of the Glendrive area which has some steeper paths and steps and is terraced in parts. This area in not suitable for wheelchairs. Likewise with our letting Becton lodges in The Dell.
  • The Park has no touring pitches or camping pitches.


Entertainment Complex

  • The distance from the main entrance to the Reception and entertainment complex is approximately 500 metres.
  • The entertainment complex is suitable for wheelchair users, which has level or ramped access to all areas. There are two toilets that are suitable for disabled people.
  • The indoor swimming pool has ramped access for wheelchairs and does have a hoist to assist with entry into the water for disabled use, with trained lifeguards to assist.


Facilities

  • There are two recycling areas on the Park and numerous wheelie bin refuse areas.
  • The shop on the Park has one step to gain entry.


Other Information

  • There is a local bus service that operates and has a bus stop just outside the main Park entrance.
  • The nearest train station is New Milton which is approximately 2 miles from the Park.
  • The telephone numbers for a doctor and taxi service are available from Reception also available are the local bus and train timetables.
  • Emergency out of hours number for security are displayed in the telephone boxes, one outside the Club Complex and one on Bartonside Road. This number is also available from Reception. We have tried to be as accurate as possible and include as much detail as we can in this statement but please telephone the Park if you feel you need to know more or we have not included your needs in the statement.

 

Hoburne Cotswold

Hoburne Cotswold strives to make its grounds and facilities as accessible to as wide a group of people as possible within the natural restriction of its location.


Pre arrival

  • Hearing dogs are welcome on the site and a hearing loop system is available in reception, main entertainment room and in the bar.

Car Parking

In the main car park we have two dedicated disabled parking bays opposite the main reception.


Accommodation

  • The park has one easy access caravan available for let; this caravan has been specially adapted for a party which includes a wheelchair user. This also has its own allocated parking bay situated to the rear of the caravan.
  • The touring field has a specially designed shower room situated in toilet block 3 and a specially designed toilet situated in toilet block 4. The keys for both these facilities can be obtained from reception with a £5 deposit when issued with the key.
  • The touring pitches are on hard standings with grass/shingle areas for an awning. We have 4 toilet blocks all with male/female facilities.


Entertainment Complex

  • Ramp access to main reception building.
  • Disabled toilets are situated in the main reception and in both male and female toilets in the indoor pool.
  • Entertainment complex, pool areas, decking areas and outdoor patio are all situated on the same level.


Facilities

  • All club and shop areas have ramp access and situated on the same level.
  • The swimming pool has a beach style entry to the water.
  • The indoor pool has a large family changing cubicle.
  • The indoor pool has an Aquatec Ocean wheelchair available for customers to enter/exit the pool. This can also be used to enter the pool showers.

Hoburne Blue Anchor

Hoburne Blue Anchor overlooks the sea front of Blue Anchor Bay and a long flat promenade.


Pre-Arrival

  • The park is assistance dog friendly.
  • The park is mostly flat, large and spacious and is accessed by tarmac roads with speed bumps at regular intervals. There is a 10 mph speed limit throughout the park.

Local Area

  • The beach and promenade is accessed from the park across a main road which can be busy in high season. The promenade is long and flat with a wide pavement suitable for all disabilities. The beach itself is accessed by steps which are steep and not suitable for wheelchairs.
  • General access to the sea front and promenade is available by car and there are numerous free parking spaces. During the summer there is a regular bus service between Minehead and Watchet via Blue Anchor run by Webberbus and Blue Motors. Webberbus do have the option of a wheelchair ramp available. Alcombe Taxi Service and Minehead Taxis are wheelchair friendly.
  • The West Somerset Railway runs through Blue Anchor from Minehead to Bishops Lydeard and buses are available from Bishops Lydeard to Taunton station for a national service. During the summer season there are some trains from Blue Anchor through to Bristol, changing at Taunton; details will be available from reception at the beginning of the season.


Shopping

  • At the entrance to the park there is a site shop which can provide basic needs, there are parking spaces immediately outside the shop, one of which is designated exclusively for disabled use.
  • Alternatively, the local branch of Somerfield, Minehead will deliver to the park free of charge orders to the value of £25.00 and above. Sainsbury's will take orders online or over the telephone for a delivery charge of £5.00. Orders delivered on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday that are in excess of £70.00 are delivered for less than £5.00; full details are on the website.
  • Next to the shop is a small cafe which caters for breakfasts, lunches and snacks and can be accessed by wheelchair.
  • There are a number of General Practitioners and Pharmacies in the area. There are also several Red Cross centres fairly local to the park for hire of wheelchairs etc. Swimming Pool and Reception complex
  • The reception is approached through double doors which are suitable for wheelchairs. There is an induction loop at reception for use by the hard of hearing wearing a hearing aid. Any guests requiring assistance with luggage etc should enquire at reception upon arrival or if possible beforehand by telephone.
  • The swimming pool is adjacent to reception and also accessed by double doors, which enter a small foyer housing male and female toilets and a unisex disabled toilet, which doubles as a changing room for the disabled user, and baby changing facilities.
  • The swimming pool itself has a ramp for access and a hoist for enabling disabled use. There is also a very shallow entrance into the pool itself.


Accommodation

  • The accommodation in Anchor View and Bay View has parking nearby and some of the accommodation in Country View has parking alongside the caravan. There is a disabled caravan in Bay View (full details attached) which has a ramp for wheelchair access and its own parking space; it is fully adapted inside for disabled use.
  • On the Country View there is a Red Cross Chalet which has easy access for wheelchairs and can be booked direct through the Red Cross.


Touring

  • The touring field pitches are on concrete hardstands with the awning area on grass. There are further male and female toilet blocks on the touring field. There is also a shower block which is adjacent to the laundrette; there is a further laundrette at the entrance to the Country Field. Unfortunately none of these facilities have wheelchair access at present.
  • There are numerous easily accessible water points, chemical toilet disposal points, dustbin areas, recycling points and fire points on the park.


Hoburne Devon Bay

Hoburne Devon Bay strives to make its grounds and facilities as accessible to as wide a group of people as possible within the natural restrictions of its hilly location.


Pre Arrival

Hearing dogs are welcome on the site and a hearing loop system is available in Reception, in the main entertainment room and in the bars
Assistance dogs are welcome both on the site and in all of the facilities

  • The indoor swimming pool has a large changing cubicle available, a shower which has suitable access for wheel chairs and on request we have available an Aquatec Ocean wheelchair to assist you in and out of the water

Hoburne Doublebois


Pre Arrival

  • The Park is 64 acres in size, the properties are well spaced out with ample open areas and car parking.
  • The Park does have a pathway that leads to woodland walk. Appropriate footwear and adult supervision is needed for the walk.
  • The walk is not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs or anyone who has difficulty walking.
  • We also have an induction loop system installed in the reception area.
  • Transport
  • The roads and paths on the park are mainly tarmac with a few paved pathways to the lodges.
  • Accommodation
  • The accommodation on the park is made up of privately owned lodges and company owned lodges for letting.
  • The park has no touring or camping pitches.
  • At present none of our lodges are for disabled.

  • Games Room
  • The facilities we have on the park is a 9 hole golf course, tennis court, play area, crazy golf and also a games room, where there is a vending machine for snacks and drinks.
