Welcome to ownership at Hoburne - holiday home ownership as it should be.
Here at Hoburne, we don’t go in for the hard sell or push you into something that isn’t right for you. Instead, we focus on understanding what you want from holiday home ownership and helping you decide whether it’s the right fit for you.
That means talking about how far you want to travel, what kind of location you enjoy, what facilities matter most to you, and how you picture using your holiday home. And if we don’t think you’ll get what you’re looking for, we’ll tell you.
Our role is to explain the options, how ownership works, and what life as a holiday homeowner is really like, so you can make an informed decision. Sometimes that decision is not to buy, and that’s absolutely fine. For us, a good outcome is one where you feel confident, informed, and supported.
When people do choose to buy, it’s because they can clearly picture the lifestyle it offers: quality time, familiar surroundings, and a place to truly relax. And when the time comes to upgrade, we’ll be here again to help.
Holiday home ownership is about the lifestyle. From speaking to our owners, three common themes emerge:
Access to the places you love - A holiday home gives you regular access to your favourite part of the country without the upheaval of moving house.
Escapism and sanctuary - It’s a place to step away from everyday life — whether that’s relaxing, reconnecting with family, or simply enjoying a change of pace.
Community - Many owners build genuine friendships with neighbours and staff. Children and grandchildren form their own friendships too, creating a real sense of belonging.
You might relate to one, all, or none of these, and that’s fine. Ownership is about flexibility and choice.
Which part of the country?
Most owners live within two hours of their holiday home, making spontaneous visits easy. Many of our parks are ideally located for this, particularly across the South West.
Tranquillity or activity?
Some parks offer peaceful retreats, others are closer to towns, beaches or attractions. Think about whether you want walkable amenities or a quieter setting.
Coast, countryside or forest?
From coastal views to woodland walks, each setting offers something different, and some parks offer the best of both.
Once you have decided on location, choosing the right holiday park company is the next key decision. There is a lot of choice! From big national companies who favour hustle and bustle, 90s weekenders and all the facilities you could possibly imagine, through to small parks without any facilities at all every holiday park has its own character. At Hoburne, our focus is on Quality. Family. Time.
Our parks have boutique restaurants, modern pools and are set in fabulous locations however, whilst they are full of life, you will never feel rushed or overwhelmed. In a world that’s busy and full of distractions, we create environments of calm designed to bring families together. Here are some other benefits of Hoburne:

Not included:
If your primary motivation is financial investment, a holiday home may not be right for you. Like a car, a caravan or lodge is a depreciating asset; it’s about enjoyment, not profit.
That said, sub-letting your holiday home when you’re not using it can help offset ownership costs. Many owners also benefit from part-exchange opportunities when upgrading.
It’s also important to note that holiday homes are not residential properties. You must have a permanent address elsewhere. Residential options are available separately through Hoburne Developments.
Rich and Mandy bought their holiday home at Hoburne Devon Bay largely thanks to their dog, Reggie.
After a weekend break where Reggie clearly loved every minute, they decided to buy there and then. Their holiday home – now affectionately called Reggie’s Retreat – has become a second home.
Rich works a four-day week and often heads down early, meeting Mandy later. They walk on the beach, enjoy the park facilities, and spend time with staff who know them and Reggie by name.
“The staff are incredible. Everyone’s friendly, helpful and welcoming. It really does feel like a family.”
All parks operate an 11-month season (7 Feb – 6 Jan), with weekend access during the closed period.
