Wednesday 7th September 2016 - Bulbury Woods played host to a charity golf match in aid of Forest Holme Hospice, part of Poole hospital NHS Foundation Trust. A total of 47 players, both amateur and professional, raised an impressive £700 for the hospice in Poole.
The players split into 12 teams to play the 18-hole course. Starting at 10am the teams’ tee’d off in 8-minute intervals, playing the course in 4-hours and finishing off with a two-course meal and prize giving.
Nicci Short, General Manager at Bulbury Woods said: “Our Club Captain, David Ralph-Bates, chose Forest Holme Hospice as our chosen charity and it is close to all our hearts. We have members that have been on the receiving end of their care and our charity golf day was the perfect opportunity for us to say thank you and recognise their fantastic work.”
Aside from the main event there was also a ‘nearest the pin’ competition run on the state-of-the-art simulator.
