A weekend at Hoburne St Mabyn. Guest blog from @_teddyandamy!

Teddy St Mabyn 900x700

We were delighted to recently welcome Instagram digital content creators @_teddyandamy to our tranquil Cornish holiday park, Hoburne St Mabyn.

Read Amy's guest blog below to find out first-hand about her and Teddy's experience in our dog-friendly Hoburne Hideaway accommodation and get the lowdown on what to do when visiting Cornwall with your four-legged friend.

Dog Friendly 125x124

Amy says...

If you’re wondering whether you should take your dog on your upcoming Cornwall trip, the answer is yes, absolutely you should! Gone are the days when you needed to message everyone you know to see if they will look after your four-legged family members or spend lots of money on a kennel that could be better spent on the holiday.

We had such a lovely, relaxing time away with Hoburne and I’m so glad we were able to enjoy our experience and everything that Cornwall has to offer with our much-loved dog, Teddy.

Teddy St Mabyn Hot Tubl 900x700

Accommodation: Hideaway Plus Lodge With Hot Tub at Hoburne St Mabyn

Yes, you read that right...a private hot tub in a dog-friendly lodge! I know what you’re asking; did Teddy jump in the water? Thankfully not! We tested it with him on a loose lead, and although he can be quite the risk-taker, he stayed well away. If we thought he might decide to go for a dip, we would have kept him on a long line on the patio so he could see us and walk in and out as he pleased.

The first thing that comes to mind when travelling with Teddy, is will he be comfortable where we will be staying. There is a big difference between dog-friendly and just allowing dogs (2 dogs max per lodge) and it’s safe to say that Hoburne St Mabyn is definitely dog-friendly! Dogs must remain on leads throughout the park, but there is an allocated field for them to run wild and free (every dog’s dream) and plenty of space for Ted to roam in the lodge and out on the patio. On arrival, he was greeted with treats, a blanket, and a bowl which was perfect as we had forgotten to bring his!

From what we have experienced, luxury accommodation that allows dogs can sometimes compromise on quality, but not here. We were wowed by the stunning Hideaway Plus Lodge, and the first thing I said to my partner when we walked through the door was “how nice would it be to live here.” It’s the perfect ‘home away from home’ with added luxury, such as the hot tub that we used every day during our stay. I absolutely loved the décor too!

The lodge itself accommodates 4 (other options available), both rooms with en-suites, the main bedroom has a beautiful walk-in wardrobe, fresh towels provided, a washing machine, iron and ironing board, large dining table, a tv in every room and a fully equipped kitchen with a cleaning and breakfast pack waiting for us (tea, coffee, milk, juice, bread, condiments, tablets for the dishwasher, cloths, etc.), literally everything you could possibly need. Every room is super spacious with tons of storage, including shoe storage in the entrance hallway. We used this space to clean Teddy’s paws off before going into the lounge.

Dog-friendly dining in Cornwall:

With this being our first trip to Cornwall, I was a little nervous that we wouldn’t find many places where we could eat out with Teddy, but to my surprise, Cornwall is just as dog-obsessed as I am! We were spoilt for choice, but below are a few places we thoroughly enjoyed and recommend, along with a few that we plan to visit next time:
