We know you probably have a number of questions about buying a holiday home at Hoburne and to help we have compiled a list of the most popular questions we get asked. If you have any questions that are not covered here then please feel free to contact us.

How much does a typical Hoburne holiday home cost?

Hoburne Holiday Parks have a wide range of both new and pre-owned holiday homes “for sale”. Brand new holiday homes generally start from £36,995 while our pre-owned holiday homes can start from as little as £9,995. This is, of course, dependent on what stock is available at any given time. How much will it cost to maintain my holiday home?

As with owning your own car or home there are some associated running costs to pay for your holiday home, which are detailed below:

Pitch Fees

Pitch fees vary from park to park and are charged yearly. Specific pricing can be acquired by speaking to the sales team at the park of your choice. The purchase price usually includes the pitch fees for the rest of the current year in the price. Payment of Pitch Fees can be spread over 10 months through our Premium Credit Limited Payment Plan. There is a charge of 5% for this service.


Electricity is charged separately to pitch fees. The cost per year will vary depending on how much the holiday home is used. We re-sell electricity to owners at the price we pay for it. We do not charge for meter readings.

Non Domestic Rates

Non-domestic business rates are charged per Holiday Home and billed separately to pitch fees, and from 2012 are subject to VAT

Water and Sewerage

Water and sewerage charges are charged separately to pitch fees. From 2012, VAT has also been applied to the cost.

General Maintenance

The park also offers a number of services including winterisation, cleaning and servicing of your holiday home. These can be booked through reception and are all charged services. The price varies per service.

Can you provide finance, if needed?

We currently offer finance through Black Horse Finance and Barclays Partner Finance. We work closely with both providers to ensure we are offering our customers the best finance deal for their holiday home. There are minimum deposit criteria in place for all holiday home purchases that use finance towards the funding of the purchase. This may vary depending on the value of the holiday home being purchased. All finance is offered subject to status. Terms and conditions apply.

Do I need to insure my holiday home?

Yes. You do need to ensure that your holiday home is comprehensively insured and the policy has adequate liability cover, particularly if you intend to let out your holiday home. Our recommended insurers, Leisuredays specialise in static caravan, holiday lodge and chalet insurance. 12 months standard insurance cover is included with all holiday home purchases. Our owners may use their own insurance provided it meets all of our minimum requirements including at least £2,000,000 public liability cover. You will be required to present a copy of your insurance certificate annually for the park to keep on file.

Is my Hoburne holiday home covered by a warranty?

All new holiday homes are covered by a 12 month manufacturer’s warranty. The details of the warranty can vary between manufacturers so please ask for further information. We guarantee to repair or replace any electrical appliance supplied in any pre-owned holiday home for 3 months from the date of the purchase - this excludes items already covered by either a new holiday home warranty or the appliance manufacturer's guarantee.

What is included in the price of my holiday home?

The listing price of a holiday home includes: 
• The purchase of the holiday home 
• Any existing warranty on the home
• Standard pitch fees pro-rata for the remainder of the current year
• Water & Local Authority Rates pro-rata up to the next billing date
• Transport, Siting and Connection
• Insurance for 12 months with our recommended insurer Leisuredays

The listing price of a holiday home does not include: 
• Running costs (electricity, maintenance, winterisation etc)

How do we use personal data?

We will hold all data you provide to us securely. We will never sell or pass on our data. For details see our privacy policy

Can I move my holiday home to a different park?

We require no less than 2 months notice in writing for customers that wish to remove their holiday home from one of our parks. 

Where applicable there may be a disconnection and de-siting fee. This can vary depending on location and whether a crane is required.

There may also be additional charges for the removal of any decking or sheds.

Any outstanding owner account balance will need to be settled in full and the disconnection and de-siting fee paid before the holiday home is removed from pitch.

When and for how long can I use my Hoburne holiday home?

Seasons vary from park to park, but typically you can use your holiday home for 10 months of the year and over weekends in the winter. Please check with the particular park you are interested in.

Can I have decking with my Hoburne holiday home?

We can supply decking for your holiday home and are always to happy discuss your requirements, explain the options available to you, and arrange for a quote including installation via our in-house fitting team. Offering a wide range of colours, styles and accessories, our uPVC decking is manufactured & supplied by Vinyl Solutions and fitted by Hoburne Decking.

Can I bring along a pet?

Generally speaking owners are welcome to bring their pets with them, provided that they are respectful of other guests. Dogs must be kept on a lead and under control at all times. 

Can I let my Hoburne holiday home out to other holiday makers?

Most of our Parks offer a letting agency service for which we charge 20% commission. Linen and cleaning charges are additional, all charges are +VAT.

Letting your holiday home through Hoburne is subject to a minimum age restriction.

You are able to let your holiday home independently and we are happy to release the keys, with your authorisation.

Do I need to make an appointment to view?

We operate an open door policy so that customers can come along when best suits them, although  it is always advisable to make an appointment. We can then ensure we are free to show you around and answer any questions you may have.

What are the park rules?

Hoburne’s Park Rules are available on request and exist to ensure everyone visiting the park has a fun, safe and enjoyable time with us.

What holiday homes do you have available?

We have a wide range of new and pre-owned holiday homes with two or three bedrooms. Please use our search facility to see what we have available – our website is regularly updated, if you don’t see what you're looking for please call one of our parks for further information.

Can I live in my holiday home?

Caravan and Lodge Holiday Homes are sold as Holiday Homes. They therefore cannot be used as a permanent residence.

Park Facilities

As an owner you’ll receive 6 adult and 6 children’s passes for use of the main facilities on the park. This will include swimming pools, entertainment venues, bar and restaurants where available. A number of facilities on park do carry a charge, for example use of the laundrette and tennis court hire. Please check with the particular park you are interested in.

Is Hoburne a member of any trade bodies?

Yes! Hoburne are proud to be members of the NCC and have been given the coveted ‘blue tick’ of approval as part of the National Caravan Council Approved Holiday Park – Holiday Park Ownership Scheme. What this means for you is that Hoburne have made a commitment to our customers to operate to the highest standards of customer service, to treat our customers with respect and to deal with them in a fair and open manner.
We are also members of the BH&HPA and all of our parks are graded under the Visit Britain scheme and have all achieved a minimum 4 star rating.
We are also very proud to say that 6 of our 7 parks have received the Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence Award. The award celebrates excellence in hospitality and is only given to establishments that consistently achieve great reviews on Trip Advisor.

How long does the typical holiday home licence run?

Brand new Caravans are sold with a 15-year pitch licence agreement. Brand new lodges may have a 20 or 25 year licence from new depending on their location. Pre-owned holiday homes are sold with what remains of their original licence agreement.

What happens at the end of my licence agreement?

Many of our owners chose to part exchange and renew their holiday home before their Pitch Licence Agreement expires, continuing to take advantage of our fantastic part-exchange rates and to enjoy all the benefits that Hoburne Holiday Home Ownership can offer.

If at the end of your Pitch Licence Agreement you do not wish to continue with ownership we have a number of trade contacts who may be interested in purchasing your Holiday Home.

Alternatively you can remove your caravan from site and the park will arrange for your caravan to be removed from the pitch and made available for collection by your chosen caravan transportation company.

There is a disconnection and de-siting charge for removing a caravan from its pitch which can vary depending on the location and whether a crane is required.

Additional charges may be payable for the removal of any decking or sheds.

Any charges paid in advance (site fees, non-domestic rates, water charges, etc) are refunded on a daily basis pro rata. For further information please request a copy of the Park data sheet.
