Hoburne match money raised by staff member for Little Princess Trust

The Hoburne Group, owners of Hoburne Cotswold Holiday Park, have generously matched the incredible amount of £2030 raised by a member of staff for the Little Princess Trust over the summer.

The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs free of charge to boys and girls across the UK and Ireland who have sadly lost their own hair due to cancer treatment and other illness.

Maria Smith, receptionist at Hoburne Cotswold, had a huge 15 inches cut off her hair back in July. Maria had pledged to raise £500 for the trust, as well as donating her hair, but smashed her target raising £2030 for the trust.

Maria commented: “I really wanted to raise money for the charity and donating my hair seemed the right thing to do. Each wig costs £500 plus the hair and I had hoped to raise the amount for just one wig

“I can’t believe how much people got behind me, to raise enough for four wigs, plus another four thanks to the donation by Hoburne, is absolutely amazing.”

The Little Princess Trust was founded in 2006 and since then has gone on to help thousands of boys and girls. The charity has recently extended its mission to include the provision of financial assistance for research into the causes of childhood cancers and into minimising the effects of chemotherapy in children.

The £2030 donated by the Hoburne Group brings the total raised for the charity by Maria to £4060. Over the summer period the park held various charity events for the Little Princess Trust, raising in excess of £7000.
