Highcliffe based Hoburne Group has triumphed against strong competition to win the prestigious Company of the Year accolade at the glittering 2016 Dorset Venus Awards Ceremony held at the Bournemouth International Centre on Thursday, 20th October. Sponsored by business technology company, Enhanced, finalists in this category were whittled down from 20 entrants to a final three, including two household brands – Lush and Organix.
Venus draws attention to the vital contribution women make to their local economies and communities, and their commitment and dedication. The 420-strong audience included the sponsors, families and colleagues of the three finalists in each of the fifteen categories.
Collecting the Company of the Year award, Hoburne’s Chairman, Rosie Kennar, saluted the work of the ladies who are such an important part of Hoburne’s continuing success: “I am absolutely thrilled to accept this award on behalf of the highly professional, dedicated Hoburne team. Any company is only as good as the people involved in it, and Hoburne’s policy is to develop all our team members to their full potential to help them achieve their personal ambitions.
“In a business where ladies are a key target market, ladies play an increasingly vital role in making our business decisions. We are proud that we have a significant number of both new and long-standing women in a wide range of roles across the Group, who continue to rise through the ranks by being the best at what they do. This award recognises and celebrates their success.”
Gail Pilling, Brand Manager at Enhanced, added: “What an amazing evening and Enhanced were delighted to crown Hoburne the ‘Venus Company of the Year.’ It has been a long and fascinating campaign and I have met with some inspirational companies. However at the end of the day there could only be one winner, and after much deliberation I was only too happy that Hoburne came up trumps! Great company, great people and exciting growth planned. I and all at Enhanced wish them all the very best.”
