New head at Hoburne Golf

James Slade has been appointed as Head of Golf for Hoburne Golf, bringing vast experience in Academy and Golf Club Management.

The company owns Crane Valley Golf Club in Verwood, Dorset, Bulbury Woods Golf Club in Lytchett Minster, Poole, and Hurtmore Golf Club, just off the A3 in Surrey.

In recent years, James has been applying his trade in the Far East with stints in both Malaysia and China, most recently at properties managed by Troon Golf.

In his last role as Club Manager at The Els Club Teluk Datai in Malaysia, the club was named World’s Best New Golf Course at the World Golf Awards.

James said: “I took up golf at the age of 10 as my father played. I was lucky to be a member of a club that was very junior friendly with a thriving section so it was the perfect environment to get hooked into the game. This is something that we are passionate about at Hoburne – growing the game and getting families involved.

“Hoburne Golf has three very different golf clubs in superb locations in Dorset and Surrey with great opportunities to grow the business. This is a family run company that puts great value on service standards and is continually looking at improving the product, so these are exciting times with plenty to do.”
